📄 FACKER — User Guide (Fake + Hacker Simulation App)

🧠 What is FACKER?

FACKER is a macOS interactive simulation app that combines fake “hacker-style” effects with system dialogs, voice narration, and Terminal animations.

It is designed as a visual prank / cinematic system simulation, not a real hacking tool.

Despite the name and visuals:

  • ❌ It does NOT hack devices
  • ❌ It does NOT access your files, messages, camera, or email
  • ❌ It does NOT track you or store personal data

It only creates a local scripted experience on your Mac.

📥 Installation Instructions (IMPORTANT)

After downloading FACKER from itch.io:

⚠️ Step 1 — Move to Applications Folder

You MUST move the app here:

👉 Macintosh HD → Applications

Or:

  1. Open Finder
  2. Locate FACKER.app (usually in Downloads)
  3. Drag it into the Applications folder

⚠️ Why this matters

If you run it from Downloads:

  • macOS may restrict permissions
  • app behavior may be inconsistent
  • security warnings may appear more often

Running from Applications ensures proper execution

▶️ Step 2 — Launch the App

  • Open Applications
  • Double-click FACKER
  • If prompted:
    • Click Open

🔐 If macOS blocks it

If you see:

“FACKER can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer”

Fix:

  1. Go to System Settings
  2. Privacy & Security
  3. Scroll down
  4. Click Open Anyway

🎮 How to Use FACKER

Once launched:

1. User Setup

You will be asked:

  • Your age
  • Your name

These inputs control how the simulation behaves.

2. Interactive Choices

You will see buttons like:

  • “Ok”
  • “I quit”

Your selections affect the script’s flow and tone.

3. Simulation Sequence

FACKER then runs a staged experience:

🧠 System Dialog Phase

  • Fake warnings
  • “tracking” messages
  • dramatic prompts

📷 App Simulation Phase

The app opens:

  • Photo Booth (camera “access” illusion)
  • Messages (fake message access)
  • Mail (fake email access)

⚠️ These are only launched visually — nothing is accessed.

💻 Terminal Sequence

A fake “hacker terminal” opens and displays:

  • INITIALIZING...
  • SCANNING NETWORK...
  • IP FOUND: (your public IP)
  • ACCESS GRANTED

This is a visual simulation only.

📡 Final Sequence

  • “FOUND YOU!” message
  • Voice commands (speech playback)
  • IP address displayed again
  • Dramatic “RUN” sequence

⚙️ What FACKER Actually Does (Technical Summary)

FACKER is built using AppleScript, which:

  • Runs system dialogs
  • Uses say (macOS voice engine)
  • Opens built-in apps (Terminal, Mail, etc.)
  • Executes a web request to get your public IP:
    curl ifconfig.me

Important:

Your IP is:

  • publicly available information
  • not private system data
  • only displayed for effect

🎭 Purpose of FACKER

FACKER is designed for:

  • 🎮 Entertainment / prank simulation
  • 💻 “hacker aesthetic” experiences
  • 🧪 AppleScript learning project
  • 🎬 cinematic fake system UI effects

⚠️ Safety Notice

FACKER:

  • Does not install anything
  • Does not modify system files
  • Does not collect data
  • Does not persist after closing

Everything is temporary and local to the session.

💡 Tips for Best Experience

  • Use in a dark room for effect
  • Do not multitask while running
  • Keep sound on (for voice narration)
  • Let Terminal finish sequences fully

🧠 Summary

FACKER is a harmless macOS simulation app that creates a fake “hacker takeover” experience using system dialogs, Terminal animations, and app launches. It is purely visual and for entertainment purposes only.
